It's that time again! The nominating committee will have it's first
meeting in January. John Lewis will chair this important committee. If
you have any suggestions for nominees or would like to be considered for
a position yourself call John Lewis at (313) 429-3433. Even general
comments or concerns would be helpful as they put together a slate of
officers that can best meet the needs of this growing organization.
Also I would like to remind everyone that we will be voting on the
proposed bylaw changes to our constitution at the January meeting. The
changes can be found in our last newsletter.
I would like to extend our gratitude to Baiba and Rodger Shimmell
for hosting our annual Holiday Party. Thirty members enjoyed great food,
good company, a respectable plant table and a free raffle. Nick Plummer debuted as plant table speaker and did a splendid job with the species portion while Alex Challis lead us through the hybrid table with his usual charm and expertise. It was a good time had by all.
Also a big thanks to Ron Ciesinski for inviting us to his open house
at Taylor Orchids in Monroe. Fun time, great deals and raffles, and
yummy desserts.
Hope your holiday's were merry and here's wishing you a prosperous
