As you may have heard our rental fees for the auditorium are going to be
raised in August. To help offset this new price hike the Gardens has
developed a new policy. This new program is aimed specifically to help
mission-related groups deal with the higher rental costs. If someone who
volunteers at MBG wishes, MBG will credit the mission-related group of
their choice the value of $11.00 for each hour they volunteer. At this
time all of the volunteers who work with the orchids (all AAOS members),
one AAOS member that works in the conservatory, and one sympathetic
non-AAOS member who works with the fern collection will be declaring
their hours to the AAOS. And because their total volunteer hours will be
in excess of our needs, (based on previous years total hours), the Great
Lakes Judging Center will be a beneficiary of their generosity as well.
