Ann Arbor Orchid Festival

The volunteer committee would like to thank the MANY people who helped make the Orchid Festival a success. Over 45 members got involved and had fun in the process! With so much help, no one had to work too hard (although some stayed throughout the entire event!). It was obvious that the public enjoyed and benefited from talking to members. Many good suggestions will make next year's festival even better!

Open House at Lehr Ventures

in Manchester on May 31 from noon to 5:00 pm. Orchids from Ray McCullough's Collection will be available for sale. Most are species which he collected in Central & South America. Also available are numerous Paphiopedilum seedlings, and more clay pots than you would know what to do with. We will have maps at the May meeting. Call Glenn at 428-8182 for more information.

Orchid Field Trip

Our first field trip to observe native orchids has been scheduled for June 14. There are several nice spots in and around the Waterloo Recreation Area, Park Lyndon North, and also on Don Fishel's Property. Some areas are easily accessible, while others require a more adventurous walk. We will go rain or shine, so come prepared for anything. We will have more details at the May meeting, and at the June study group session. Call Alex at 971-6186 for details.
