Flower & Garden Show
The Ann Arbor Orchid Society won the Governor's Trophy for our
exhibit "An Orchid Affair - Living With Orchids", for best interactive
display. We probably didn't have as many orchids in this display as we
had at the MOS show, but we were able to get good, quality plants
and were able to show them off in a more realistic manner. Thanks
go to Duane Duman for helping with the "House" construction, the
Winters for all around help and Dottie's wire furnishings and antique
gates, Connie Bailie for interior furniture and help, Paige Hartman for
her Antique ironing board which probably made the difference, all
others who contributed orchids, time and labor, and especially those
who contributed the patio and greenhouse.
The patio blocks were contributed by Fendt Builders Supply, 3285
Liberty, 663-4277, and installed by Scott Powers of The Magic
Touch, 9925 Kies, Bridgewater Township, 428-9078.
The Four Seasons Greenhouse was donated and installed by Tom
Samida of Skyview Construction, 208 East Davis, 769-2400.
Unfortunately, we were not able to keep the greenhouse, as
everyone had their eye on it.
