53 members attended the general meeting on Jan. 14, 1996. The meeting convened at 2:32. Four guests and one new member attended the meeting. Minutes - The minutes from the Nov. 12, 1995, general meeting were approved as written by the membership. Barb Larime posted the minutes from the Dec. II, 1995 board meeting on the bulletin board.

President - Connie Bailie introduced the nominating committee for 1995: Don Fishel, Ruth Kittle, and Chuck Zill will be selecting nominees for the May election. Members should see them regarding potential nominees or anything else related to the elections. In addition to the nominees selected by the committee, nominations are welcome from the floor (during March meeting, since we will not have a regular meeting in April because of our Orchid Show).

Vice President - Absent. Connie read his report. Harry thanked Connie for letting him miss the meeting. With respect to memorabilia, art work is being made ready for cloisonnd pins. Viral testing equipment for cymbidium and tobacco strain virus has been ordered. Members should sign up indicating the number of plants they want tested. Plants for testing will be accepted at the February meeting at a charge of $2.50 or $3. Forms will be available then.

Secretary - Nothing to report.

Treasurer - As of Dec. 29, 1995, the treasury contained $2844.18 currently. The revenue from 1995 activities included: $1160 from dues, $913 from the raffle, $738 from the auction, $200 misc.

Shows - Alex is still looking for volunteers for three show positions. This includes Volunteer Supervisor, Hospitality Coordinator, and Publicity Assistant. General Membership Announcements Duane and Laura Duman just returned from an orchid hunting trip to Bangkok, Thailand, and Burma.

Fliers are now available for the AAOS, and we thank John Christensen for designing these attractive and informative brochures. We also have an insert for the brochure that describes our programs for the first half of 1996. Connie asked those that knew of places where they could distribute them to please take some. Connie announced that a questionnaire would be formulated over the next couple of months and included in the newsletter. She is looking for questions to include from all members. The questionnaire will be geared toward finding out what activities members want to see offered by the club.

A raffle including all members that had paid their dues closed the meeting. Ann Cooper's name was drawn from Neal Foster's hat (only available bowl). She won a $30 gift certificate from Taylor Orchids. Congratulations, Ann! The meeting adjourned at 2:48.--Barb Larime
