The board changed the starting time for the program
at the May 11 meeting from 2:30 to 2:00 (setup/schmooze time to begin about 1:30). This will
give our guest speaker Fred Hillerman plenty of time to get to East Lansing for his talk that
evening at the GLOS meeting. AAOS elections will take place during the general business
meeting which should begin around 3:30.
There was a lot of discussion regarding our show in April. We will have use of the terrace area and the lobby in addition to the auditorium. In addition to orchids, we will have vendors selling orchid supplies and scarves. Not only plants can be displayed at the show. There are classes for orchid art and for orchid arrangements. Photography can also be displayed. The orchid pins have been ordered and should be available for sale at our show. Mugs and tee shirts with our logo will also be available.
A lot of time was spent reviewing the contents of the questionaire that will be published with the newsletter. The board is hoping for a lot of input to help us improve the organization. Please take the time to give us your ideas.--Barb Larime
